SUPER FINS 2010

The 2010 Superfins final was judged during the afternoon by A of A Senior Judge Tim Chamberlain. Entry to this annual event is by invitation only and the fish eligible are those that have won either a Best in Show award or a Diploma Class during the current show year. In this class of competition the quality of exhibit is high but there is also the element of showmanship in selecting species that will exhibit well in what is in essence an AOV class.

The results were announced at the close of the auction and the Superfins Dave Caesar Shield was presented to John Egan of Port Talbot. His winning exhibit was a Botia histrionica which was judged at 92. Second place was awarded to Peter Quested of Hounslow with a very colourful killifish Fundulopanchax gardneri jos plateau scoring 90.5. John Egan also won third place with an imposing characin species Erythrinus erythrinus with 90 points. With the tenth placed fish scoring 85.5 points there were really no losers only winners and the day closed with thanks extended to everybody who had attended and made the event such a success.
