he Southern Counties Catfish Rescue Society is an organization formed in the year 2000, by a small, dedicated group of experienced catfish enthusiasts.
SCCRS can offer advice and practical assistance to owners of large catfish, if their pets have outgrown their aquariums and/or are no longer wanted.
SCCRS policy, where possible, is to rescue and re-home these catfish to responsible fish keepers who have the necessary facilities and experience to cope with tank busting species.
SCCRS offers advice and guidance on keeping all the various families and species of catfish that are normally available. It encourages its members to try and breed their fish and to study and document any unusual or interesting behavioural patterns so that such information can be evaluated and made available to other enthusiasts.
SCCRS holds three meetings a year: an AGM in the spring, an Open Show in the summer and an Auction in the autumn. All meetings are held in the Basingstoke area of Hampshire. A newsletter is produced quarterly.
Membership costs £5 per year
